According to TMZ, Dickson, 77, was arrested on July 9 and booked for misdemeanor battery on a person. Records from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the arrest.
The incident reportedly began the previous night. Law enforcement sources told the outlet that Los Angeles Police Department officers responded to a call about an alleged battery at a location in Hollywood.
Investigators were told Dickson allegedly assaulted another person. Officers later placed the veteran actress under arrest.
Police have not identified the alleged victim. Officials also have not explained what sparked the confrontation.
Dickson spent only a short time in custody. Authorities released her later that day on her own recognizance.
The actress has not publicly addressed the arrest. The outlet reported that it reached out for comment but did not receive a response.
Longtime soap fans know Dickson as the original Jill Foster Abbott on The Young and the Restless. She first joined the series in 1973 and remained until 1980. She later returned and played the role again from 1983 through 1987.
Dickson appeared in 226 episodes of the hit soap. She also landed roles in “Falcon Crest,” “The FBI,” “Love, American Style,” “Men at Law,” and “Here We Go Again.”
Her acting career slowed in later years. However, she stayed connected to Hollywood through writing.
