LeBron James, who was reportedly being considered by many NBA teams, has decided to join the 76ers. Earlier, there was speculation that he could join the Miami Heat after their social media mixup.
However, James took to his X account to share the news with his fans. The star wrote, “I believe I can help make the Philadelphia 76ers a championship team, and I am so excited to energize a new fan base and start this incredible journey one last time. Thank you LA. Miami I’ll forever love, and Northeast Ohio will always be home!”
James talked about how he believed he had already played his last season. He wrote, “I thought I was done when the season ended. I wasn’t ready to announce it, and I knew I needed some time to really decide, but I was pretty sure I played my last game. Was honest at that last press conference when I said I needed to look at myself and decide if I still love this game. I still truly love this game, and I have more to give.”
The basketball star talked about wanting to continue playing and contributing to the game. He said the last few weeks were incredible and he wants to grind, compete, and win. He wrote, “The last few weeks have really been special.”
“I still want to sacrifice. I still want to work. Still want to grind. I still want to compete, to win and to have a chance at the feeling of winning another championship,” he added.
James’ move will add another star to a roster featuring Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey, Jaylen Brown, and VJ Edgecombe, according to TMZ. The 76ers have not shared any public statement regarding James.
