Joy Behar Mocks Donald Trump’s Diet Over Cyclospora Parasite

The View host Joy Behar made a lighthearted joke about Donald Trump’s eating habits amid concerns about the spread of the Cyclospora parasite.

The cohosts also expressed concerns about how funds are being misallocated, and the team that monitors such diseases have been largely dismantled.

The public health issue that prompted Joy Behar’s criticism of Trump

According to The Wrap, Joy Behar believed that the president did not care about the parasite, probably because it doesn’t affect him. The panel expressed concern over the rapid spread of the parasite, whose consequences include explosive diarrhoea.

The panel said they were especially troubled by reports that the CDC’s surveillance network for parasites of this kind has been largely dismantled under Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s leadership.

“They say that they don’t have the money, but they have $600 million for Trump’s ballroom,” Behar said, adding. “Of course, he doesn’t care because he never ate a salad in his life.”

This caused laughter among the audience and may hint at Donald Trump’s diet. Cyclospora is a microscopic parasite that causes the intestinal illness cyclosporiasis and is most commonly spread through contaminated fresh fruits and vegetables, including leafy greens, herbs and bagged salads. America has reported a multi-state spread of the parasite.

Reports have said that the president has an unhealthy diet, along with a nighttime binging routine that includes “McDonald’s and then candy and Diet Coke.” In fact, United States Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has  revealed that the president is often seen “pumping himself with poison.”

There may be truth yet in Behar’s joke around the president’s diet!

Host Sara Haines agreed with Behar’s analysis about budget allocation. She said, “It’s a bit of a blind spot that these types of diseases, when you reduce it, can also attack us,” adding, “We just came out of a pandemic as recently as 20–“

Behar, who had just delivered the stinging truth about Trump, spoke openly about the fact that she feels “unsafe”, adding, “I feel like that people up in these positions are not watching out for us.”

Though Behar’s joke managed to disguise their concern, the episode highlighted how The View hosts felt about health funding and America’s preparedness for such an outbreak.
