According to a former royal aide, King Charles is falling short in defending the monarchy and would have heavily disappointed Queen Elizabeth was alive.
The aide stated that while the Queen was a model of integrity, the King is contributing to the breakdown of traditional values in the monarchy and British society at large.
Dr. Gavin Ashenden explains why Queen Elizabeth believed King Charles faced serious challenges as monarch
Appearing on The Karl Stefanovic Show, Dr Gavin Ashenden, who served as an honorary chaplain to the late Queen between 2008 and 2017, brushed upon the King’s major failings.
According to The Royal Observer, Ashenden criticized the King stepping away from the moniker of “Defender of the Faith,” which has been associated with British monarchs since the 16th century. Instead, he alleges that we have a woke king who cannot see the dangers he is inviting by adopting a more lenient and modern approach.
“Evidently, we have a woke King. Coincidentally, we have a King who can’t think straight despite having had the best possible education,” Ashenden said. He explained that there is no historical precedent for what the King wants to profess – “protects the space for Faith within the multi-faith nation.” Ashenden said the King is completely misguided, saying, “He’s like a blind and deaf lion tamer, who can’t see things are quite dangerous.”
Drawing comparisons with the Queen, Ashenden heaped praises on her administration. When asked what the Queen would think of the King’s reign if she were alive, he said, “I think she would know it’s a disaster. She was a very intelligent, alert woman, full of integrity,” His progress report on the King was less than favourable. “Unfortunately, Charles… is just falling short of what’s expected of a King,” he said.
The main criticism against the King harkens to his more open-minded decision-making that, according to the former royal aide, has loosened his grip on the monarchy.
