Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce reportedly spent millions on their wedding day. A recent report claimed that the singer allegedly paid over $60K for a city permit. Instead of a private island, the couple tied the knot in New York City’s Madison Square Garden. To maintain privacy and ensure a smooth guest arrival, the planners seemingly had to close nearby streets. Hence, they had reportedly paid a large amount to the taxpayers.
Taylor Swift’s one-day permit cost was reportedly $60K
Taylor Swift’s wedding day was a highly anticipated event for New York City. TMZ recently reported that the pop star allegedly paid over $60,000 for a one-day city permit to close 7th Avenue. Due to the nuptials, the nearby street at MSG in Midtown Manhattan was reportedly closed.
According to the outlet’s sources, Swift made this move so that her A-list guests could seemingly enter MSG without any hassle. If she hadn’t closed the particular avenue, then the attendee would reportedly have faced NYC’s “gridlock traffic.”
Aside from paying a whopping amount for a day permit, Swift showcased her lavish wedding in other ways. The outlet reported that one of the saddlebags that the global sensation gifted to an invitee was worth around $6,700.
Furthermore, she had reportedly gifted luxe Cartier watches and a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle with a “JUST&T MRD” license plate. On top of that, it was said that the venue itself cost the celebrity pair millions for three days.
As per a previous report, the newlyweds ordered over 100 pizzas for their guests as a late-night meal. Therefore, spending $60K on a city permit might not be a big deal for the artist.
Meanwhile, an expert criticized the “Enchanted” hitmaker for going too far with her wedding arrangements. According to them, the ceremony was “tacky” and allegedly caused inconvenience to the local public. They seemingly called out Kelce and Swift for keeping their wedding on the July 4 holiday weekend.
