Prince William Will Travel to US for World Cup on One Inescapable Condition

Prince William has set his World Cup terms. England simply has to do the hard part. The Prince of Wales joined Jason and Travis Kelce on New Heights and made his U.S. travel plan very clear. He is willing to cross the pond for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, but only if England makes it all the way.

The Prince of Wales says he’ll travel to the U.S. if England reaches the 2026 FIFA World Cup final

According to PEOPLE, Prince William appeared on the Kelce brothers’ podcast on Friday, July 3, and discussed how the United States has handled the FIFA World Cup 2026. William called the tournament “a brilliant World Cup” and said the U.S. had been “fantastic” as a host. Then Jason Kelce asked what a successful tournament would look like for England. William did not dress it up. “I think winning it,” he said.

That led Travis Kelce to translate the royal math. If England reaches the final, William would make the trip across the Atlantic. The Prince of Wales agreed, saying, “Definitely, if we’re in the finals.” So, there it is. The Prince William US visit condition depends entirely on England’s run. No final, no royal football trip.

The condition makes sense. William is president of England’s Football Association and has long shown his love for the national team. He also visited England’s training base before the tournament, offering support to the staff and players ahead of their World Cup campaign.

Meanwhile, the New Heights chat gave fans a lighter side of the future king. The Independent reported that William joked about American beer tasting different and said the size of U.S. stadiums would be “quite a culture shock” for British fans. He also corrected the Kelces on one very important point. In William’s world, it is not soccer. It is football.

The World Cup final will take place at New York/New Jersey Stadium on July 19, according to FIFA. Therefore, England now has one more reason to chase history: it might bring the British Royal Family back to the U.S. in full football mode.
