Sadie Sink is stepping into superhero territory. And Tom Holland made the jump feel easier. The Stranger Things star opened up about joining Spider-Man: Brand New Day ahead of her first Marvel outing. While her role remains tightly under wraps, Sadie Sink is already making fans more curious.
The Stranger Things star opens up about her transition to Marvel’s massive superhero franchise
In a new Nylon interview, Sadie Sink discussed entering the Marvel Cinematic Universe through Spider-Man: Brand New Day. The actor admitted she understood the weight of the franchise before stepping onto the set with Tom Holland. “I knew that Marvel was a big deal and had a big brand, especially Spider-Man,” Sink said. She added that the fan base feels “huge,” calling blockbuster movies “a whole different beast.”
That honesty makes the update feel bigger than a usual casting quote. Sink rose to global fame as Max Mayfield on Stranger Things, but Sadie Sink in the MCU territory brings another kind of attention. Every detail around her character has already sparked theories, from Jean Grey guesses to other comic-book possibilities. Still, Sink kept the mystery intact.
Entertainment Weekly noted that she will appear opposite Holland and Zendaya in a highly secretive role. Deadline previously reported that Sink joined the Spider-Man film in a significant part, though Marvel and Sony have not confirmed who she is playing.
Sink also praised Holland for making the transition smoother. “He could not have been more welcoming,” she told Nylon. She said the whole crew helped her feel at ease, while Holland seemed “relaxed and open” on set.
Rotten Tomatoes also reported that Holland, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon and Sink discussed the new film during a Big Ticket interview. The movie follows Peter Parker into adulthood after the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home. For fans, the excitement is simple. A Stranger Things favorite is entering one of Hollywood’s biggest franchises, and she is doing it beside the current Spider-Man himself.
