Blake Lively’s legal battle with Justin Baldoni may be winding down, but it’s not quite finished yet. The actress has now requested additional time from the court as attorneys continue sorting through the financial aftermath of one of Hollywood’s most talked-about legal disputes.
The latest filing comes just weeks after major claims between the former “It Ends With Us” co-stars were resolved. While the central legal fight appears to be over, the question of legal fees is still keeping both parties tied to the courtroom.
Blake Lively has made a request for a time extension in the ongoing Justin Baldoni legal drama
According to TMZ, Blake Lively has asked for a seven-day extension to submit paperwork related to attorney fees that may be owed by Justin Baldoni following the dismissal of his defamation lawsuit against her.
In a letter to the court, Lively’s legal team explained that both the actress and her attorneys are dealing with “a number of conflicting personal and professional obligations, including international travel.” The filing also noted that one of her lead attorneys is currently overseas and must review and approve the final submission before it can be filed.
The request stems from a recent court ruling addressing Baldoni’s dismissed $400 million defamation lawsuit against Lively. Earlier this month, Judge Lewis Liman determined that Baldoni would be responsible for covering certain legal fees incurred by Lively while defending herself against the now-dismissed claims. However, the exact amount remains under review.
Lively’s attorneys reportedly told the court they need additional time to gather “all the relevant arguments and billing records” connected to the fee request.
Meanwhile, Baldoni’s attorney, Bryan Freedman, suggested it may be time for everyone involved to move forward. During an appearance on The Megyn Kelly Show, Freedman said, “What we’re here to do is to move on — to allow people finality. To allow them to have peace. To allow Justin to have time with his family.”
He added, “The truth is, when you settle, you should settle. Wish the other party the best, and move on.”
The judge has not yet ruled on Lively’s request for additional time. Until then, the final chapter of the “It Ends With Us” legal battle remains unwritten.
