Joe Rogan’s Alleged Move to 60 Minutes Debunked by CBS

Joe Rogan found himself at the center of a television rumor this week, but CBS says viewers shouldn’t believe the hype. Speculation exploded online after reports claimed the podcast giant was being considered for a role at “60 Minutes” amid ongoing turmoil at the network.

The chatter gained enough traction that CBS was forced to address it. According to the network, the idea that Rogan could be heading to one of television’s most prestigious news programs was never grounded in reality.

CBS spokesperson Jeremy Adler says rumors of Joe Rogan filling Scott Pelley’s 60 Minutes seat are “false”

The rumor reportedly began with an anonymously sourced RadarOnline report that suggested Rogan was being eyed as a possible addition to “60 Minutes.” The claim later spread across social media and was amplified by other outlets, fueling speculation about a dramatic shake-up at CBS.

However, CBS spokesperson Jeremy Adler quickly shut down the story.

According to Forbes, Adler described the reports as simply “false,” putting an end to theories that the host of “The Joe Rogan Experience” was preparing to make the jump into network television journalism.

The timing of the rumor wasn’t entirely surprising. “60 Minutes” has been making headlines following a series of high-profile departures and management changes. The situation intensified after longtime correspondent Scott Pelley reportedly exited the program following clashes with CBS News leadership.

Reports indicated that Pelley publicly criticized decisions made by new CBS News editor-in-chief Bari Weiss and executive producer Nick Bilton during internal meetings. The fallout reportedly exposed growing tensions behind the scenes at the legendary news magazine.

Against that backdrop, some observers viewed Rogan as a potential wildcard choice capable of attracting a new audience. The podcaster remains one of the most influential media personalities in the country, with “The Joe Rogan Experience” consistently ranking among the most-listened-to podcasts in the United States.

Still, the notion of Rogan joining “60 Minutes” always appeared speculative. The UFC commentator has built his brand around long and unscripted conversations that differ dramatically from the traditional format of network news.
