On the May 27 episode of The View, host Whoopi Goldberg seemed slightly annoyed when co-host Joy Behar doubled down on Goldberg’s weight reveal.
Goldberg replied with exasperation, saying, “Joy, did!” referring to the time when she was 300 pounds heavy and “looked like five people.”

When the show broached the topic of weight-loss journeys, Goldberg told the guests that she was considerably heavy for some time. Goldberg discussed the impact of drastic weight loss of celebrities that peaked public scrutiny.
Goldberg revealed that she used to weigh 300 pounds, at which Behar exclaimed, “When was that? Since I’ve known you?” Goldberg coolly replied: “When I did [the 2022 movie] Till, I was 279 [pounds], and I looked like five people.”
As Behar continued disputing Whoopi’s reveal, the Oscar-winner said in annoyance, “Yes I did, Joy, you keep saying…”.
In an attempt to lighten the moment, Behar cracked a joke, “They say Black don’t crack? You don’t have anything hanging. How could that be?” Goldberg answered playfully, “It’s hanging, you just don’t see it!”
Guest Mindy Kaling added to the discussion, saying that she is focussing on weight loss because of her family, “I’m 46, I’m a single mom of three kids. My mom died young of cancer, both of my parents have diabetes…I need to live. I need to live, and my kids need me.”
In the course of the interview, Behar brought back a moment from a 1998 talk show, where Oprah Winfrey had brought out a wagon filled with animal fat, as a visual tool to describe her own weight loss.
Goldberg, however, seemed have seen through the sensationalization, and said, “She felt it really was sort of mocking and saying to people, look what I did,” Goldberg said
