The View co-hosts have reacted to the White House’s criticism of Joy Behar, as she clarifies the claim. A recent post by the Rapid Response 47 on X featured an image of Behar with closed eyes on camera with the caption, “Wow! Poor health?”

During the Behind the Table podcast from The View on May 27, moderator Whoopi Goldberg took a dig at Donald Trump, who recently visited Walter Reed National Military Medical Center for routine preventive medical and dental checkups, as per The White House.
The EGOT winner said, “The White House says You Know Who remains in excellent health. They also lashed out on social media, posting screen grabs of reporters with their eyes closed, along with captions claiming they’re asleep and must be in bad health.” She further added, “They posted one of you, too, Joy.” Behar, who is taking an extended hiatus from The View, quickly replied, “They must have been showing one of his clips,” and then justified, “Just because your lids go down doesn’t mean you’re asleep.”
According to The Hollywood Reporter, in July 2025, the White House slammed Behar after she said Trump was “jealous” of former President Barack Obama. To which White House spokesperson Taylor Rogers responded by saying, “Joy Behar is an irrelevant loser suffering from a severe case of Trump Derangement Syndrome. It’s no surprise that The View’s ratings hit an all-time low last year. She should self-reflect on her own jealousy of President Trump’s historic popularity before her show is the next to be pulled off the air.”
