In an exclusive interview with Hunter Biden, Candace Owens raised the theory that Donald Trump could have staged the assassination attempts against himself. Discussing the attacks, Owens said, “We’re supposed to believe he survived four assassination attempts?” She added that it would make Trump the first president to have survived four assassination attempts.

In 2026 itself, Donald Trump faced two attacks. An armed breach at Mar-a-Lago in February, and a shooting at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner in April. He suffered no injuries in either incident. On September 15, 2024, gunshots were heard near Trump’s Florida resort. The suspect was identified as 58-year-old Ryan Wesley Routh. He was sentenced to life in prison after being found guilty of plotting to assassinate Trump.
However, the president was injured during an assassination attempt in July 2024 at a campaign rally in Butler County.
Hunter Biden also referred to Charlie Kirk. The latter was a right-wing political activist assassinated at Utah Valley University in Utah on September 10, 2025. The son of former President Joe Biden said, “Whether it’s Butler or Charlie . . . it’s just not right, and I mean it’s so glaringly not right it’s almost as if they’re just saying ‘f you.”
Conservative political commentator Candace Owens also questioned, “We’re supposed to believe he’s survived for what — we have four assassination attempts— of the president?”
She continued, “OK, no one‘s buying that like that, something‘s just not right here. Everyone can see that is not how you would react to your husband being shot . . . You’re asking us to abandon our common sense . . . I mean, even the recent White House Correspondents’ Dinner, after so much theater, and now it’s, ‘Ok, Secret Service maybe shot each other, and we’re just gonna kind of quietly move on.”
Biden then remarked, “That ballroom, by the way, it’s gonna cost $1 billion now, and by the way, it’s not from donors… Talk about gaslighting.” This comes in response to the president stressing the importance of the ballroom after the WHCD shooting.
