Jumanji co-stars Kevin Hart and Jack Black joined Dwayne Johnson and Cinema Con to give a first look at the upcoming movie. They announced its official title as Jumanji: Open World. The Moana actor teased, “It’s the biggest of the franchise so far.” He also remembered Robin Williams during the presentation.

“This whole franchise would not have started or happened or kicked off in this really beautiful way without one man, and that’s Robin Williams,” Johnson said. Further, he mentioned that the new film features an Easter Egg that pays homage to Williams in “every single scene.” He explained, “If you don’t know already, it’s one half of the original dice that was used in the original Jumanji. Robin, as we like to say, this one’s for you.”

Back in November 2025, Johnson celebrated the first day of Jumanji 3 filming in an Instagram video 9 (via Entertainment Weekly). He also revealed how the film will pay tribute to the Good Will Hunting actor. While showing off a woven necklace with a board game die, the WWE star said, “This is the dice from the original Jumanji with Robin Williams as a show of respect.”

“[It’s] a way of honoring Robin and this entire franchise that he started as we film our very last Jumanji. The big finale. Here we go, let’s shoot,” he further said. In the original movie, Williams portrayed Alan Parrish, a young boy who gets sucked into an adventure board game. He returns later in the movie as an adult after spending decades in the board game. Jumanji: Open World will release in the theatres on December 25.
