Globe exclusively reported that many sources have dismissed the romance rumor between Nicole Kidman and Simon Baker, but it still has not eased concerns for Rebecca Rigg. Kidman counts Rigg as a close friend, and she is also the godmother to Rigg and Baker’s youngest son, Harry.
A source told Globe, “Rebecca loves Nicole like a sister,” adding, “They’ve been through so much together over the years, so it’s extremely shocking for her to get her head around this new dynamic. Like everyone, she’s totally in the dark about Nicole and Simon’s current status.”
The rumors escalated after photographers captured Kidman and Baker holding hands at the “Scarpetta” series premiere in New York City on March 3. Both of them play a married couple in the show, which has already drawn attention for their on-screen chemistry.
Another insider suggested that their friends still debate what the hand-holding meant, with an Enquirer source claiming, “A lot of their mutual friends assume their hand-holding was a cheesy stunt.”
