Nancy Guthrie would have reportedly left DNA in a “second crime scene,” according to an expert. Recently, genetic genealogist CeCe Moore claimed that the place where the 84-year-old could allegedly be held would contain evidence.
For those unversed, the mother of “Today” show co-host Savannah Guthrie went missing from her Tucson home on February 1. After the FBI released footage of a masked man outside her door, Nancy was reportedly suspected of being kidnapped.
Nancy Guthrie likely left DNA ‘everywhere’ she was taken after kidnapping, says expert
Nancy Guthrie has reportedly been missing for over six weeks. As the alleged kidnapping case became complicated, experts chimed in to help with the investigation. Recently, journalist Natasha Zouves from “The Truth of the Matter” podcast invited genetic genealogist CeCe Moore, from the ABC documentary series, “The Genetic Detective.” The expert claimed that Nancy’s DNA could have been left in the “second come scene.”
“I don’t even like to think of this,” they said. Moore added, “If there is a second crime scene that is discovered or her, you know, remains, then that gives them another opportunity to find DNA,” Moore elaborated on her point.
Furthermore, the podcast guest gave an example of a similar case, but with an unfortunate outcome. She narrated a recent story of an elderly Australian man kidnapped from his house. According to Moore, it was allegedly a case of “mistaken identity.” However, much evidence, including the victim’s and suspect’s DNA, was found in the second crime scene.
After revealing the ending, Moore clarified she would not “hope for a second crime scene or remains to be found of Nancy.” Additionally, the expert stated that everyone still would like to believe that Savannah’s mother is “alive.” However, Moore highlighted that if Nancy has reportedly been kidnapped, then the place where she has been held would prove to be the second crime scene.
