No, Timothée Chalamet Didn’t Fall at the 2026 Oscars

Rumors travel fast on the internet, which happens to be especially true for Hollywood celebrities. And that too, during a night as closely watched as the Oscars? It’s like pure wildfire. Something like this happened at the 2026 Academy Awards, making Timothee Chalamet top every trend chart, all over social media. This claimed that Chalamet took a major tumble, creating an embarrassing turn of events on the star-studded red carpet. However, despite the buzz, the story wasn’t quite what it seemed.

Here’s the truth behind Timothée Chalamet 2026 Oscars fall rumor

It looks like a post, which ended up on X (formerly Twitter), started a major rumor, garnering over 150K likes, as of the time of writing. The entire internet was soon filled with claims that Timothée Chalamet had taken a dramatic fall down the stairs at the Oscars 2026 red carpet ceremony. In fact, this alleged fall soon became a trending topic, with users sharing images and speculation about what supposedly happened. This actually ended up leaving onlookers and fans surprised and confused.

However, contrary to what is seen and heard online, it looks like these claims were false. Furthermore, the photo used in the X post, which was posted with the caption, “Timothée Chalamet has reportedly fallen down the stairs at the #Oscars,” was a much older photo, which is often used in popular memes all over social media. This was also clarified by multiple users who recognized the image used in the post.

According to PrimeTimer, this photo is from the 2011 Cannes Film Festival red carpet, taken when the security tried to remove an anonymous man from the carpet, and he ended up taking an accidental tumble. After all, the post was made from the page, Discussing Fish, which is a parody page on X, mocking the popular pop culture account, Discussing Film. What confused people is the fact that they even tagged the official Academy account as the source.
