Hillary Clinton’s Epstein Deposition Discusses Ghislaine Maxwell at Daughter’s Wedding

Hillary Clinton recently spoke out after being questioned under oath about Ghislaine Maxwell’s attendance at her daughter Chelsea Clinton’s wedding. The former Secretary of State appeared for a closed-door deposition tied to the House Oversight Committee’s inquiry into Jeffrey Epstein and his associates.

Among the topics raised, according to reports and videos, was a widely circulated photo showing Maxwell at the high-profile ceremony. Clinton has now responded to those questions, insisting she has little memory of Maxwell being there.

Hillary Clinton has no ‘recollection’ of Ghislaine Maxwell at daughter’s wedding

During her testimony before the House Oversight Committee last week, Hillary Clinton was asked about Maxwell’s attendance at her daughter Chelsea Clinton’s 2010 wedding to Marc Mezvinsky. The ceremony took place at the Astor Courts Estate in Rhinebeck, New York, and drew hundreds of guests.

According to reports from the deposition obtained by TMZ, Clinton said Maxwell attended as a “plus-one” of tech entrepreneur Ted Waitt, whom she described as a longtime acquaintance and supporter of her husband, former President Bill Clinton. “She was there as a guest of Ted Waitt — someone we had known for 30 years, I believe,” Clinton said, per accounts of the session.

Clinton added that the wedding included more than 500 guests and emphasized she was focused on her daughter that day. “Other than that picture of her at the wedding, I have no recollection of talking with her. I was pretty focused on my daughter,” she stated.

At the time of the wedding, Maxwell had already been named in civil litigation connected to Epstein. However, she would not be convicted of sex trafficking minors until 2021.

Clinton has also said in recent days that she does “not recall ever encountering” Epstein. She told reporters the committee’s questions were politically motivated, characterizing the inquiry as a “fishing expedition.” As such, Clinton suggested lawmakers should instead focus on the Justice Department’s handling of Epstein’s case. “‘What is being held back? Who is being protected? And why the cover-up?’” she added.

Bill Clinton, who was also deposed, has reportedly said he was unaware of Epstein’s alleged crimes until years after they had ceased contact.
