IShowSpeed may have become insanely famous because of his crazy viral antics. However, one of his unsolicited actions recently landed him in legal trouble. While a fight between two humans often leads to legal issues, Speed’s scuffle with Rizzbot, the viral troll robot, resulted in a $1 million lawsuit. Speed’s actions reportedly caused irreparable damage to the robot.
IShowSpeed faces lawsuit for robot assault
Besides winning hearts worldwide, Rizzbot also appeared on Speed’s livestream in mid-September. However, their first meeting spelt doom for both, as the robot sustained severe damage, and Speed got charged with a lawsuit for assaulting the machine.
During Speed’s livestream, Rizzbot trolled him in multiple ways, which caused the 20-year-old to lose his composure. It produced farting sounds after Speed held it in a chokehold, becoming annoyed with its trolling nature. Subsequently, he questioned the robot, “Who are you?” in a frustrated tone. Nevertheless, Rizzbot’s “I am your father” reply, in a Star Wars style, made Speed lose his cool. The 20-year-old punched it twice before making it crash on the floor.
Speed’s assault on the robot caused irreversible damage, which resulted in the cancellation of its famous upcoming gigs, including one with MrBeast and another on The NFL Today Show on CBS. As a result, its developers, Social Robotics LLC, filed a lawsuit against Speed, accusing him of “intentionally” assaulting their hot product. (via Complex)
Social Robotics LLC. justified its sought $1M amount in the lawsuit by mentioning, “This is no doubt a monumental setback for the RizzBot in terms of viral momentum and financial gain from the exposure. Being in a MrBeast production is akin to being in a Super Bowl commercial.”
The lawsuit also stated that Speed got “intentionally physical with Rizzbot” during his livestream. While it’s hard to say with what intentions the 20-year-old assaulted the troll robot, this lawsuit can certainly impact his kung-fu-themed short film, which is set to premiere later this month.
