Can You Name The 40 Songs In Triple J’s ’40 Years Of Music’ Video?

Australia’s beloved triple j is celebrating its 40 amazing years in music this month, and to celebrate that celebration, the broadcaster has challenged listeners to identify the 40 songs included in its new 40 Years Of Music video.

At 10am and 3pm every day from 1st to 20th June, triple j is picking a year between 1975 and now, and playing that year’s biggest tracks. Five classic Live At The Wireless performances will also be broadcast at midday on each of those days.

Not only will some of the most influential songs of the past 40 years be returning to the triple j airwaves this month — live recordings, interviews and other special moments will also sneak into the broadcast.

As the weeks of musical nostalgia kick off, triple j‘s 40 Years Of Music video (below) is a difficult but doable challenge that music fans should try their hand at.

There are 40 songs included in the clip, and only just over a minute to listen to them all. Think of it like Spicks and Specks on steroids, with iconic tracks from the likes of Blondie, The Clash, Nirvana, Radiohead and more recent tracks from the likes of Hottest 100 champ Chet Faker.

What’s more, triple j have also created a 40-song mixtape covering tracks from the last 40 years. The playlist can also be streamed in full, below.

Good luck!
