Republic Of Doyle’s Allan Hawco Stars In New Series

“Republic of Doyle” star Allan Hawco recently announced that he will be heading up a new series that will be based on author Lisa Moore’s bestselling novel “Caught.”

The Newfoundland Labrador native, who has appeared in a number of TV series and television movies like “Love & Savagery,” “Closing the Ring,” “The Trojan Horse,” and “ZOS: Zone of Separation,” Doyle graduated from the National Theatre School of Canada and continues to make major waves in the entertainment business. In addition to acting in “Republic of Doyle” on CBC he has also written and directed certain episodes of the series as well. In 2012, he also received The Canadian Film and Television Hall of Fame’s Outstanding Achievement Award.

“‘Caught’ presents an outstanding opportunity to continue our special relationship with CBC,” Hawco said in a statement Wednesday (as reported by CBC News). “We have no doubt that ‘Caught’ will be the first of many world class productions that we collaborate on together with eOne.”

In addition to “Caught,” Hawco is also working on “The Book of Negroes,” which is currently in post-production, and is filming “Hyena Road,” a war drama that stars Rossif Sutherland and Paul Gross.
