Samsung and HTC Mock Apple and the iPhone 6 on Twitter

Samsung and HTC have ribbed Apple after the company’s unveiling of the iPhone 6, taking pops at a smartphone that Apple claimed would “redefine” the hardware.

Taking to Twitter, Samsung referenced the newly unveiled iPhone 6 Plus, which is a larger, 5.5-inch version of the 4.7-inch standard iPhone 6, pointing out the late Steve Jobs’ comment regarding large smartphones in the below tweet:

HTC also jumped on the bandwagon, passing judgement on the design of the iPhone 6 and the new ethos Apple has adopted in regards to the future of its smartphone line, posting the below tweet following the Apple live event:

Many have begun to point fingers at Apple for the hyperbolic statements they made during their iPhone 6 presentation, in which the company glossed over the advancements companies such as HTC and Samsung have made in the smartphone market, opting to instead make it look as though they aren’t following the trend with their upcoming hardware release.

While the iPhone 6 undoubtedly boasts impressive tech, it does borrow a plethora of features that have already proven popular with existing smartphones, and as such Apple’s positioning of it as a “redefining” experience has struck many as a rather insincere statement.  

With that being said, Apple has seemingly improved upon the foundations laid by companies such as Samsung and HTC, so while it may not be as revolutionary is it is pitched as being, it’ll certainly be a contender for the best smartphone on the market when it releases on September 19th.
