Man Attempts To Skateboard Across United States

We’ve all had that urge at one time or another to take a road trip around the country, whether through just a few states or from coast to coast.  But one man is taking that sentiment to a whole other level.

On June 1, Myster Holliman will take a road trip from one coast of the United States to the other, but not on the four wheels you would typically expect.  Holliman, the head track coach at Fresno Christian High School, will embark on a cross country journey where he will attempt to travel 7,600 miles by skateboard and get his name into the record books.  Just imagine Forrest Gump on a longboard.

The previous record of 7,555.25 miles was set back in 2008 by New Zealand native Rob Thomson who traveled from Leysin, Switzerland to Shanghai, China and it took nearly 15 months.

Holliman will begin by driving from his home in Fresno to Seattle, at which point he will begin his journey by longboard and intends to then spend at least the next eight months weaving his way through the United States until he reaches his destination of Miami Beach.  Holliman earned a sponsorship from Method Skateboards, a local skate company based in nearby Clovis, California.  He has also created a website for all the ride information and will likely be posting updates along his adventure.

Man, and we get bored when we have to travel using our skateboard on Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater!
