Donald Trump Ally Sean Hannity Makes Unexpected Admission About Iran War

Donald Trump’s ally Sean Hannity has made an unexpected admission about the Iran war. He identified military action against Iran as one of the key reasons Republicans suffered defeats in the midterm elections. The Fox News personality shared his take during a live broadcast discussing midterm results.

Donald Trump spent much of election night reacting to Fox News rather than addressing the results directly. The president took particular issue with Jessica Tarlov, the liberal co-host of The Five, complaining about her voice in a Truth Social post. Trump said he was switching channels until that “LOSER is off the air.”

Greg Gutfeld later disclosed that Trump had reached out to him directly with a message defending his record. The president pointed to lower gasoline prices, claiming they were “lower than they were for Biden and Obama.” He also pinned the blame for inflation on Biden, insisting that prices were now coming down (via The Daily Beast).

Trump further criticized his predecessor’s approach to Iran, accusing the Biden administration of allowing Tehran to move closer to developing a nuclear weapon. Tarlov had a quick response when Gutfeld shared the message on television. She jokingly suggested that he simply press the stop button.

Sean Hannity offered a more direct opinion of what may have hurt Republicans at the polls. He pointed to Trump’s decision to launch military action against Iran. During a live exchange with co-host Bret Baier, he was asked whether the GOP might have seen better election results if the president had stayed out of the conflict. Hannity didn’t mince words, responding, “I think 100 percent.”

He singled out rising gasoline costs and voters’ attitudes toward the war as two major concerns. Trump has defended the military operation as necessary to prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons. However, Hannity said that the justification had done little to ease concerns over fuel prices and the conflict itself.

Trump, however, has struck a very different tone. Taking to Truth Social, the president insisted that his poll numbers were higher than ever and appeared certain of another victory.
