Selena Gomez & Demi Lovato Recreate Their Iconic Disney Movie Poster, View Photos

Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato are bringing back Disney Channel nostalgia with a special reunion. The longtime friends have teamed up for a new Rare Beauty campaign that recreates their iconic 2009 movie poster. The collaboration offers fans a nostalgic look at their on-screen partnership.

Gomez and Lovato teamed up for Rare Beauty’s “Still Making Each Other Blush” campaign, recreating their iconic 2009 Princess Protection Program poses. Dressed in elegant gowns and crowns, the longtime friends gave millennial pop fans a major wave of nostalgia.

The campaign debuted on Wednesday, October 28, alongside the Delena Soft Pinch Liquid Blush Bundle. The set includes two shades of Rare Beauty’s Soft Pinch Liquid Blush: Hope, Gomez’s favorite nude-mauve shade, and Virtue, Lovato’s preferred beige-peach shade. It also includes a complimentary Soft Pinch Blush Brush.

Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato have come a long way since their Disney days

Gomez and Lovato first met as children while appearing on Barney & Friends in 2002. Their friendship continued as they built careers on Disney Channel, with Gomez starring in Wizards of Waverly Place and Lovato starring in Sonny with a Chance and Camp Rock. They later co-starred in the 2009 Disney Channel movie Princess Protection Program.

In 2008, the pair began sharing YouTube vlogs known for their playful exchanges and inside jokes. Nearly 18 years later, the pair has revived their vlog format for the Rare Beauty collaboration, bringing back a familiar part of their friendship.

In an interview with Elle, Lovato reflected on reconnecting with Gomez as adults. She said their friendship has evolved over the years, including periods when they were not in regular contact.

“Selena is someone that I’ve always loved and adored,” Lovato said. “It’s really great to be in a place today where we can collaborate on things, but also just hang out and spend time together.”

Gomez attended the opening night of Lovato’s It’s Not That Deep Tour in Orlando, Florida, in April. The two also reunited backstage at the concert.
