As usual, Seth Meyers recently kicked off another episode of his show, Late Night With Seth Meyers, with plenty of energy. This time, he set his sights on Donald Trump over the president’s claim that his uncle invented radar technology.

Meyers said, “While speaking to reporters, on Saturday after voting, President Trump said that his uncle invented radar.”

“And you know what that means? Time to ace another cognitive exam!” He joked further.

For context, the president made the claim on Saturday while speaking to reporters after voting early in the midterm elections. He was discussing the war with Iran and claiming that the U.S. military had destroyed Iranian military equipment, including radar systems.

Trump said, “They’ve knocked out all of the, actually some of the things my uncle invented, the radar. My uncle invented radar, can you believe it? From MIT, Dr. John Trump. I mean he’ll probably be angry at me but I knocked out their radar.”

As for the 80-year-old president’s claim, his uncle was indeed involved in radar technology research. However, he didn’t actually invent radar technology. However, claiming that his uncle, Dr. John G. Trump, invented radar technology isn’t the only controversial or inaccurate claim Donald Trump has made about him. According to media reports and fact-checkers, Trump has made several other claims about his uncle that researchers and critics have found to be factually incorrect.

Seth Meyers has called out the president’s claims before. Trump previously claimed that his uncle taught Ted Kaczynski, also known as the Unabomber, at MIT. Meyers later challenged that claim on Late Night With Seth Meyers.
