Amy Poehler’s Next Big Comedy TV Show After Parks and Rec Gets Hilarious Trailer

Peacock has released the official trailer for Amy Poehler’s upcoming archaeology comedy series. The former Parks and Recreation star leads the new comedy Dig, alongside Brennan Lee Mulligan, Noma Dumezweni, and others.

The official synopsis reads, “Dig follows a team of dedicated archaeologists (and less-dedicated college students) who spend their summer working on a dig site in Greece. Their discovery of a rare artifact sends them on the adventure of a lifetime.”

What do we see in the trailer for Amy Poehler’s Dig?

The trailer opens with Amy Poehler as Elise. She lays out the rules for her team at an excavation site in Greece, and says, “Okay, everyone, listen up cause I’m only going to explain this once. There are stray dogs everywhere. Do not feed the dogs. Ever.”

The next scene introduces Hugh Laurie’s Neville. “Another beautiful day in southern Greece. So turn to your fellow comrades and extend a hearty hand.” He initially tells Elise he wants to retire, but then changes his mind. “I’ll stay one more year!”

Elise discovers a rare artifact. “Nothing like this has been found for hundreds of years. We have to tell Neville.” But Dylan tells her, “No. He’ll get the credit like he always does. But if we dig it up ourselves, you’ll get the credit.” The trailer then follows Elise and her team as they embark on an adventure of their own.

Dig’s cast also includes Geraldine Viswanathan, Antonia Thomas, and Fina Strazza. Jason Mantzoukas, Brennan Lee Mulligan, and Noma Dumezweni will be seen in recurring roles. Kayvan Novak, Jon Pointing, and Bonita Friedericy will have guest appearances.

The show is co-created by Amy Poehler and Michael Schur, who also serves as the co-showrunner and executive producer, alongside J.J. Philbin. Morgan Sackett, Dean Holland, Kate Arend, Jordan Grief, Dave Becky, David Miner, and Sharon Jackson are also executive producers. It is produced by Fremulon, Paper Kite, Duck Duck Films, Dunshire, 3 Arts, and Ocean Avenue.

Dig will premiere with all 10 episodes on Peacock on November 23, 2026.
