Nobody Wants This Star Responds to Adam Brody’s Viral Israel-Palestine Comment

Adam Brody’s comments on Israel and Palestine have sparked debate among the Nobody Wants This cast. Tovah Feldshuh has now criticized his remarks, while series creator Erin Foster has also addressed their political differences.

Brody, who plays Rabbi Noah Roklov in the Netflix romantic comedy, shared his views in a September interview with GQ. He described Israel’s actions in Gaza as genocide and expressed support for Palestinian freedom.

The actor said, “Put me down as thinking it’s a genocide. Put me down as wanting a free Palestine. It’s awful that it’s taken so much death and misery, but it does feel like it’s reaching a breaking point that it should have a while ago. I’m hopeful that another administration can really do some good and correct some of these policies that are helping that situation be as awful as it is.”

His comments drew responses from people connected to the series, including Feldshuh, who plays Noah’s mother, Bina.

Speaking to the New York Post, Feldshuh challenged accusations of genocide against Jewish people. She said, “To accuse the Jewish people of genocide is wild. It’s right out of Hitler’s playbook. You take the victim and you make the victim the perpetrator.”

Feldshuh also defended Israel’s importance to the democratic world. Although she did not mention Brody by name, she said she would remain kind and professional toward colleagues with differing views.

Nobody Wants This creator Erin Foster also disagrees with Adam Brody’s Palestine views

Foster addressed Brody’s comments during an interview for the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast. She acknowledged that people involved in the show can disagree about political issues while continuing to work together.

She also clarified that her feelings toward Brody remain positive. The 44-year-old said, “While I love Adam, I also disagree with him. And that’s okay.”

Foster, who has converted to Judaism, added, “I think that as the creator of the show, all I can say is that I want our Jewish fans to know that I see you and I hear you and I understand how you feel. And the show has always been and always will be a love letter to Judaism.”

Nobody Wants This follows Joanne, an agnostic podcaster played by Kristen Bell, and Noah, a rabbi played by Brody. The series explores their romance as they navigate differences in faith and family.
