Kaia Gerber’s tribute to her late brother, Presley Gerber, reportedly surprised her parents, Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber. The sources claim Kaia chose to share her own message rather than their family statement to honor her brother.
Kaia Gerber reportedly departed from family statement plan while honoring late brother Presley
Kaia Gerber took to Instagram to share a carousel of videos with a statement to honor her late brother. She wrote in the caption, “I love you the bluest, to the moon and back and back again, forever, big brother.”
Her parents, Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber, shared the same photos with a statement including Kaia’s name. However, Kaia shared her own tribute.
A source told Rob Shuter’s Naughty But Nice, “The family had agreed on a coordinated response, and Kaia was expected to follow it; instead, she went rogue. She wrote her own statement, in her own words.”
She reportedly went for a separate tribute on Instagram, surprising her parents, as they reportedly did not expect it. A source said, “This is an incredibly private, tightly controlled family. They decide exactly what the public gets to see and hear. Every photograph, every statement, every detail is carefully considered. Kaia broke that pattern.”
However, insiders insist her decision was not to challenge her parents publicly. A source added, “Kaia loves her family, but she’s not a little girl anymore. This wasn’t a fashion campaign or a publicity exercise. This was her brother. She wasn’t going to let anyone edit her grief.”

Kaia has reportedly been dealing with Presley Gerber’s death; she has been keeping to herself. Her friends have reportedly been visiting her while she tries to hold herself together. A source said, “She was in total shock, so it was a big emotional process just to come to the realization that she would never see her brother again. Everyone in the family is worried about her.”
Her mother encouraged her to continue her routine as she dealt with grief.
