The actress recently appeared on the Off Air with Jane & Fi podcast on Friday, October 23, where she discussed her career, relationships, and more. During the conversation, Elizabeth Hurley explained that having grown-up children makes navigating her blended family with Billy Ray Cyrus much easier.
Hurley said, “Well, it works very well, I think. When I dated a previous boyfriend of mine, Shane [Warne] — who sadly, of course, isn’t with us anymore — he had three kids, and they were all sort of the same age as Damian and then a few years above, but they were kids.”
“They were at school. There were still school runs, school holidays. There was an awful lot to juggle. And now, Billy and I are empty nesters. All our children are independent, and Damian is the youngest of all of them,” she added.
Later, the actress concluded, “It’s very different. It’s more grown up, and it’s easier. Sometimes I miss being a hands-on mummy. I don’t miss the school runs. I don’t miss running around the house screaming because I can’t find a tennis racket. I don’t mind missing that.”
Billy Ray Cyrus and Elizabeth Hurley first met in 2022 while filming the Netflix movie Christmas in Paradise. At the time, they were simply co-stars who developed a friendly bond on set. The American singer divorced his second wife, Firerose, in June 2024 after just seven months of marriage.
According to Cyrus, Elizabeth’s messages and conversations helped him laugh and find comfort during that difficult period. Their friendship eventually grew into a romance, and on April 20, 2025, Easter Sunday, the couple made their relationship official by sharing a joint Instagram post featuring a picture of themselves together.
