Will Smith and Paula Patton’s popular comedy, Hitch, is leaving Netflix soon. The romantic comedy remains a favorite for many fans. However, its streaming departure is just around the corner.
Will Smith’s Hitch will leave Netflix in November
According to What’s On Netflix, Hitch leaves Netflix on November 1, 2026. The romantic comedy originally hit theaters in February 2005. Andy Tennant directed the film, with Kevin Bisch writing the screenplay.
The movie follows Alex Hitchens, played by Will Smith. He works as a dating coach, helping men find love. One of his clients is Albert Brennaman, played by Kevin James. Albert hopes to win over celebrity Allegra Cole, portrayed by Amber Valletta.
Meanwhile, Hitch finds himself falling for Sara Melas, a gossip columnist played by Eva Mendes. Unfortunately for him, his usual dating tricks don’t work with her. He soon discovers that love isn’t always easy to manage.
Things get worse when Hitch refuses to help Vance, who wants to pursue Casey, Sara’s best friend. However, he falsely claims that Hitch helped him. Sara eventually discovers Hitch’s secret career and publishes a story.
The revelation damages Hitch’s reputation and creates more problems. It also puts Albert and Allegra’s relationship at risk. Hitch must then reconsider his approach to dating. He starts questioning whether romantic tricks can really work.
For fans of romantic comedies, the film remains an entertaining watch. Its mix of dating advice and awkward romance still works. Alongside Smith and Mendes, the cast features Paula Patton, Julie Ann Emery and others.
Hitch became a major box office success after release. The romantic comedy earned around $371 million worldwide. The movie also received reasonably positive reactions from critics. It currently holds a 68% critics score on Rotten Tomatoes and its fan score sits at 62%.
