Netflix releases new trailer for Taken: Natalee Holloway documentary
Netflix has unveiled a fresh trailer for Taken: Natalee Holloway, offering a preview of its upcoming documentary about one of the most widely followed missing-person cases in the United States.
The footage revisits the events surrounding Natalee Holloway’s disappearance in Aruba, where the 18-year-old had travelled with her classmates to celebrate their high school graduation. The series brings renewed focus to the case through the experiences of those closest to Natalee, particularly her mother, Beth Holloway.
According to official synopsis, “On May 30, 2005, 18-year-old Natalee Holloway went on a high school graduation trip to Aruba — and never came home. What followed was years of unanswered questions, a missing teenager, and a mother’s relentless fight for the truth.”
It further reads, “Now, over 20 years later, Natalee’s mother, Beth, is ready to tell the complete story. It’s a story of a mother who refused to stop searching, an investigation that spanned continents, and a daughter whose memory endures.”
Most recently, the case saw a significant development in 2023, when Joran van der Sloot, a Dutch man who was the last person seen with Natalee before she disappeared, confessed to killing her. The three-part series is produced by Story Syndicate and directed by Dani Sloane and Matthew Galkin.
Its material includes exclusive access to Beth and interviews with people who were with Natalee before her disappearance. The documentary also features interviews with detectives and audio recordings from Natalee’s family, friends, and the FBI.
Taken: Natalee Holloway will premiere on Netflix on November 4.
