Prince William is reportedly “all for” a new film about Angela Kelly that could reignite the tiara-gate controversy involving Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. According to Closer, Queen Elizabeth II’s close friend and confidante of 28 years is expected to be the subject of an upcoming film.
Known as the royal family’s ultimate “gatekeeper,” Kelly could reportedly play a key role in the project. An insider claimed the production remains “hush-hush.” What reportedly began as a documentary has since evolved into a scripted project, with Kelly allegedly being consulted on the story.
If Kelly agrees to collaborate, the Sussexes could find themselves in an uncomfortable position. The controversy dates back to the lead-up to Harry and Meghan’s 2018 wedding, when Kelly reportedly declined their request for access to Queen Mary’s Diamond Bandeau tiara, which Meghan ultimately wore. Queen Elizabeth reportedly backed the decision, allegedly describing the heirloom as “not a toy.”
“Harry has every reason to be afraid of this woman,” the insider claimed. They described Kelly as “inseparable” from the Queen and “privy to nearly everything” that happened behind palace walls. “It’s hard to imagine she will paint Harry and Meghan in a good light,” they added. The late Queen also reportedly considered Kelly so close that she used to say she was like a sister.
Meanwhile, William was reportedly sickened by a scene in “The Crown” series that depicted his mother’s ghost. However, the source claimed that the Prince of Wales has a different perspective on the proposed film. “He loves the idea of them getting a taste of their own medicine,” they said.
