Prince Harry wanted to spend Christmas with King Charles, but Meghan Markle ‘wasn’t having any of it,’ per source
Meghan Markle reportedly did not agree to spend Christmas with King Charles, as per Harry’s wish. According to Star magazine, a source said Harry tried to persuade Markle to spend their holidays with his family, but she reportedly refused.
Sources said, “Markle isn’t “prepared to sit around being humiliated by the royals, even if they’d extended an invite. It gave her the perfect excuse to book a flight back to Montecito, and Harry ultimately didn’t have much of a choice.”
Earlier, according to reports, Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, and their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, are likely to spend their Christmas in California. Markle was planning to spend the holidays with her mother, Doria Ragland; the location was unclear.
Sources said, “He’s very disappointed because, in his mind, they could have brought Doria to the Cotswolds. And perhaps still scored an invite to see his father [King Charles III] and the Spencers. But Meghan wasn’t having any of it.”
Harry reportedly wants to repair his relationship with his father, Charles. However, his relationship with Prince William remains sour. The source added, “Harry’s fear is that his father will interpret this as them putting their noses in the air and heading back to Montecito in a huff. It doesn’t seem to dawn on him that the royals are actually relieved. They don’t have to officially turn him and Meghan down now!”
The Royal Family traditionally gathers for dinner at the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk, England.
