Prince William ‘Seething’ Over Harry & Meghan’s ‘Quasi-Royal’ Walkabout — Source

Prince William reportedly reached his breaking point after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s latest UK appearance resembled an official royal engagement. Their October 15 Nottingham visit reportedly deepened tensions within the royal family, despite King Charles’ position on the Sussexes’ non-working status.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex received a warm welcome from locals as they visited community organizations. However, the timing reportedly sparked fresh anger because Charles and Queen Camilla attended a major engagement in Cardiff that same day.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Nottingham walkabout was ‘final straw’ for Prince William, per source

According to New Idea, a royal insider claimed William was furious about the Nottingham outing. A royal insider stated, “Prince William is seething.” However, that simmering anger reached a boiling point when Prince Harry and Meghan undertook their quasi-royal walkabout in Nottingham on October 15.

“William could not believe what he was seeing,” the source said, describing the visit as “the final straw” for the Prince of Wales. Harry and Meghan visited a local food bank and the Community Recording Studio, which supports young people affected by violence.

The source argued that the appearance looked remarkably similar to an official royal duty, despite the couple’s status as private citizens. The report also referenced a September letter in which Charles reportedly clarified that the Sussexes were “non-working royals and private citizens.” The insider claimed William viewed their latest appearance as disregarding that message.

The source further alleged that William could try to prevent Harry and Meghan from attending future royal gatherings. Potential flashpoints reportedly included the Remembrance Day service in November and possible meetings with senior royals at Buckingham Palace or Windsor.

“William is furious about it,” the insider claimed, adding that discussions were underway with the King’s advisers. The alleged goal was to avoid clashes between the Sussexes’ appearances and the senior royals’ official schedules.

The Nottingham visit coincided with Charles and Camilla’s attendance at the ceremonial opening of the Welsh Parliament. The source criticized Harry for appearing to upstage his father, although the report offered no independent confirmation of William’s reaction.

Still, the insider suggested Harry would resist any attempt by his brother to dictate his future. “Harry’s not going to be pushed around by his brother,” the source claimed, adding that Meghan supported his plans. The report suggested Charles hoped to calm William and handle the Sussex situation himself. However, the insider dismissed the prospect of a near-term reconciliation between the estranged brothers, insisting “it’s not going to happen.”
