Ciara discussed her experience on the official DWTS podcast following her elimination. Her Summer House storyline involved former flame West Wilson and friend Amanda Batula. West revealed his relationship with Amanda after she had denied the rumors when Ciara questioned her.
“I spent seven years, almost, on reality TV,” Ciara explained. She continued, “When I started, I was 24, and I’m 30 now.” The star reflected on growing up in the public eye and navigating significant personal changes.
Ciara made it clear that the betrayal did not define her entire journey. “I think, I’m so much more than what happened in this past year – a betrayal of friendship,” she said. She had also hoped the show would highlight her broader ambitions.
“In my sphere, I’m trying to pave the way for girls that look like me aside from, like, the scandal,” Ciara added. She wished that aspect of her story had received more attention. Her comments emphasized her desire for recognition beyond the Summer House drama.
Her professional dance partner, Brandon Armstrong, also defended her character. “I would love for people to understand the depth Ciara possesses,” he said. He added, “She deserves better out of this process because of her character.”
Despite her disappointment, she expressed gratitude for their partnership. “I’m so thankful for this wild and crazy ride,” she shared. She also reflected on the unpredictable year she had experienced.
“The journey that God has taken me on this year… I surrender,” Ciara wrote. She admitted that she sometimes struggled to understand what the experience meant. Still, her comments suggest she is moving forward while seeking opportunities beyond the betrayal storyline.
