Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom could face questions about a real estate dispute that has returned to court. A businessman involved in the case wants to question the former couple about money he says he has not received. The legal fight began over the sale of a $15 million Santa Barbara home. Now a judge must decide whether the pair must answer questions.
Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom may be questioned over an unresolved real estate payment
According to court documents obtained by TMZ, businessman Carl Westcott has asked to subpoena Perry and Bloom. Westcott previously sued Perry’s business manager, Bernie Gudvi, to cancel the sale of his Santa Barbara home. He lost that case, and the court ordered him to give the keys to Perry. Perry also had to pay the remaining amount for the property, which came to about $4 million.
Westcott claims Perry sent him $900,000 in June but did not pay the full amount. In his newest filing, he requested a subpoena for Perry and Bloom. That would allow him to question them about the money he says he is still owed. The request takes the singer and her former partner back into the property deal controversy.
Gudvi has pushed back against Westcott’s request. Perry’s manager argued that there was no emergency that required the court to approve the subpoenas. He also said the remaining payment cannot go to Westcott until the court resolves his appeal in a separate dispute involving $3 million he allegedly owes Gudvi. Gudvi further claimed Westcott was using the request to harass Perry and Bloom.
The judge has not yet ruled on whether Westcott can question the former couple. Perry and Bloom began dating in 2016 and ended their relationship in 2025. For now, the court’s decision will determine whether the pair must take part in the latest stage of the ongoing property dispute.
