Sydney Sweeney, Michele Morrone, and Stephen Kalyn were spotted filming The Housemaid’s Secret in Hoboken, New Jersey. Page Six shared set photos on October 15, showing Sweeney and Morrone together during production.
A fan account also posted footage of Sweeney filming alongside Kalyn, who plays her character’s lawyer boyfriend Brock.
The sequel adapts Freida McFadden’s second novel in her best-selling trilogy. Sweeney reprises her role as Millie Calloway, who takes a housekeeping job for a wealthy tech CEO. Millie discovers dark secrets behind a locked door hiding the CEO’s supposedly ill wife.
Paul Feig returns to direct the film, with Rebecca Sonnenshine again writing the screenplay. Lionsgate confirmed the project in January 2026 after the first film’s global box office success. The studio’s motion picture group chair Adam Fogelson praised the audience response at the time.
Kirsten Dunst joined the cast in March 2026 as Wendy Garrick, the CEO’s endangered wife. Brittany Snow also stars as a character named Marybeth. Paul Anthony Kelly rounds out the new additions as Douglas Garrick, the wealthy husband.
Before the first film’s release, Sweeney told Entertainment Weekly she hoped audiences would embrace the franchise. Amanda Seyfried, who played Nina in the original, has not been announced for the sequel. However, she previously expressed openness to a cameo appearance.
The first film followed Millie as she helped Nina escape her abusive husband. It ended with Millie accepting a new assignment from another woman in danger. The Housemaid is currently streaming on HBO Max.
The Housemaid’s Secret is set for theatrical release on December 17, 2027.
