ABC‘s acclaimed comedy TV series has expanded its cast with Miranda Cosgrove, Ali Wong, and other renowned names. The show originally kicked off in 2021 and is currently in its sixth season.
Miranda Cosgrove, Ali Wong, and Edi Patterson will be seen in guest roles for Abbott Elementary‘s upcoming episodes, reports Deadline. Full details are still under wraps on their respective characters for Season 6.
Cosgrove was recently seen in Netflix’s The Wrong Paris alongside Pierson Fodé. She is also known for her performance in Nickelodeon’s iCarly series. Patterson earned a Critics Choice Award nomination in 2026 for her outstanding role as Judy Gemstone in HBO’s The Righteous Gemstones. Wong is known for her stand-up specials, including Baby Cobra, Hard Knock Wife, and more.
Abbott Elementary is approaching a major milestone in Season 6
Abbott Elementary has managed to entertain viewers for the past five years. It’s received mostly positive reactions from critics as well as viewers. Currently, the ABC comedy series holds a near-perfect Tomatometer score of 99% and a Popcornmeter score of 89% on Rotten Tomatoes.
With Season 6 underway, the TV series is set to accomplish a crucial milestone. Abbott Elementary will hit its 100th episode around the fall finale. Considering that the show has been going on for a long time already, some of its prominent cast members believe it can even turn into the next Grey’s Anatomy.
Sheryl Lee Ralph, who’s been playing Barbara Howard for several years in the ABC show, believes she can stay with the character for five more seasons. “I would love to still be with her, and just as I continue to grow, I really hope Barbara Howard continues to grow,” said the 69-year-old acclaimed actress. Ralph thinks that if a series like Grey’s Anatomy can run for more than two decades, “why can’t we?”
Abbott Elementary Season 6’s next episode arrives on October 21, 2026, on ABC.
