Tom Hiddleston reflects on how fatherhood changed his life with Zawe Ashton

In an interview with Esquire U.K. for its November/December issue, Hiddleston opened up about life as a father. “Becoming a father has completely changed my life,” the actor said. He explained that fatherhood changed what matters most to him. “It’s changed the centre of meaning in my life,” he added.

Hiddleston also spoke about the importance of being present for his children as they grow. “It’s the most important thing I’ll ever do, the most important role I’ll ever play,” he told the magazine. He said he wants to be with his children and help them in their lives. “It’s… it’s… heaven,” he added, describing the experience.

The actor also explained that parenthood brought feelings he never expected. “I don’t think I could ever have been prepared for how your heart expands, becoming a parent,” he said. Hiddleston added that becoming a father makes a person feel more deeply and experience greater love. “You just feel more of everything. You feel more deeply. You feel… it’s a love like no other,” he shared.

For Hiddleston, those changes have made life feel even richer. “Because you’re just more alive,” he said of the feelings that come with parenthood. The actor first met Ashton in 2019 while they played a married couple in the play Betrayal. Their relationship has since evolved into a family life that Hiddleston now describes as deeply meaningful. His words show just how much fatherhood means to him.
