Meghan Markle has reportedly bluntly told Prince Harry that they “don’t need his family,” highlighting a growing disagreement between the couple on how to approach King Charles. While Harry is said to be ready to phone every number “until he reaches his father to demand some face time,” Meghan appears to see things differently. Now, according to a source, tension is building behind the scenes for the Sussexes and the rest of the royal family.
Meghan Markle asks Prince Harry to give up on mending King Charles conversation, per source
According to the source, Prince Harry, 42, finds it “incredibly hurtful to be shuffled off like this.” He is also trying to understand why the king’s stance has changed so suddenly. His worry, the insider claims, is that Charles Spencer’s book, “Swan Song: Diana, My Sister,” is behind it. It has been reported by National Examiner that the contents and claims of the memoir did not go down well with King Charles.
Meanwhile, the source told the outlet that Harry maintains that he knew nothing about the book. He also says his uncle kept the project to himself. Even so, the insider conceded that the timing looks poor. They also point to how close the two men had reportedly grown before publication.
The source also maintains that this has not shaken Harry’s loyalty. The Spencers have treated him warmly, the source says. Additionally, he has no plan to freeze them out to please his father. As a result, Harry and Meghan are not “on the same page” with the next course of action regarding King Charles.
Harry wants the chance to talk to the king about his side of events. According to the source, he will not drop the matter until the two have spoken. Meghan, by contrast, is not aligned with her husband on this.
The insider says she is urging him to “let it go” and telling him that “they don’t need his family.” Notably, Harry moved to the U.K. with Meghan and their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, in late August. The reason given was to be closer to Charles, 77, so that the children can get to know their grandfather.
