“We’re pausing for a little bit and then we’re going to figure it all out,” Pattinson told the Official Pop Drop.

News of the The Batman Part II production pause emerged on October 5.

A representative confirmed that Reeves had temporarily stepped away from the sequel.

“Production on ‘The Batman Part II’ has been temporarily paused while Matt Reeves focuses on a family matter,” the representative said. “Matt has the full support of DC Studios and we look forward to continuing the journey soon.”

The source did not provide further details about the family matter. It also did not specify when Reeves would return to production.

The pause raised another question about the long-awaited Robert Pattinson Batman sequel.

Warner Bros. currently plans to release The Batman Part II on February 18, 2028. However, the source said there had been no update on whether the production interruption would affect that date.

As per Variety, the sequel had already faced multiple delays before filming reached this stage.

Warner Bros. originally scheduled the movie for October 2, 2026. The studio later moved it to October 1, 2027. It then pushed the release date of The Batman Part II to February 2028.

Pattinson first played Bruce Wayne in Reeves’ The Batman, which arrived in March 2022. Under the current schedule, the sequel would arrive roughly six years after the first movie.

The upcoming film also includes several returning and new cast members. Colin Farrell will return as the Penguin. Andy Serkis will play Alfred Pennyworth, while Jeffrey Wright will return as Commissioner Gordon.

Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Charles Dance and Brian Tyree Henry will also appear in the sequel.

For now, Pattinson only confirmed that the production had paused temporarily. He did not announce a new filming schedule or release-date change.
