Prince Harry reportedly got paid a whopping amount to talk about his grief and the pain of losing Princess Diana. For those unversed, the Duke of Sussex delivered a masterclass talk where he spoke about stress, trauma, and profound grief in his new MasterClass, “Redefining Grief: Building Resilience Through Loss.”
It was released ahead of World Mental Health Day on October 10. However, as per a new update, the Prince did not do it for free and was, in fact, paid handsomely to talk about his late mother.
Sources say Prince Harry received a whopping $250K for Masterclass appearance
As per Rob Shuter’s new blog, Prince Harry was paid a staggering $250K for his recent MasterClass appearance. Typically, celebrity instructors have commanded around $150,000. However, Harry reportedly asked for more to turn his personal grief into a profitable venture.
A source attached to Shuter revealed that Harry is not just another celebrity guest and that he agreed to talk about his late mother for $250,000. However, it reportedly came with certain restrictions. The Duke of Sussex was willing to talk about Diana but not his brother, Prince William, his sister-in-law, Kate Middleton, or his uncle, ex-Prince Andrew.
During the session, Harry confessed that he regularly pours his heart out to his late mother and speaks to her as if she were here. He shared that he wonders what she would think about his life today when he talks to her portrait. Moreover, the Duke of Sussex confessed that he thinks about her on most mornings and nights.
This isn’t the first time Harry has spoken about his mother and the grief of losing her. He has previously discussed his personal trauma in Oprah Winfrey’s interview, his memoir “Spare,” and various other media appearances.
The Duke of Sussex is reportedly aware that he will be paid a lot of money to talk about his late mother. The source said, “Harry has already told much of his story. Diana remains the one subject audiences will always pay to hear him discuss.”
Furthermore, the insider shed light on how Harry has changed his strategy from criticizing the royal family to now profiting from his grief. “And those memories are worth a quarter of a million dollars,” the source added.
