A Daily Express poll suggests that most participating readers oppose Prince Harry and Meghan Markle spending Christmas with the royal family. The results come amid reports that the couple have differing preferences for the holidays, with Harry reportedly keen to remain in the UK and reconnect with King Charles. However, their Christmas plans have not been confirmed.
Royal fans do not want Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to spend Christmas with the royal family
While Prince Harry is apparently keen on spending the festive season in Britain, a Daily Express poll reveals widespread public disapproval of the couple reuniting with the royals for the holidays this year. The reports suggest that the Sussexes are weighing several holiday options, including spending Christmas with the royal family or Spencer relatives, or joining Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland, in California. The couple last spent Christmas with Harry’s family in 2018, when Meghan was pregnant with Prince Archie.
The public, however, has made its stance clear. As reported by the outlet, the poll asked 3,965 readers if Prince Harry and Meghan Markle should spend Christmas with the Royal Family. Of those surveyed, an overwhelming 94% said “No,” while just 4% said “Yes” and 2% answered, “Don’t know.” Additionally, speaking to Heatworld, a source weighed in, saying, “With the kids in school, they can’t keep bouncing between California and the UK.”
The couple have yet to confirm their Christmas plans, and it remains unclear whether they have received an invitation from the royal family. Their potential reunion would take place against the backdrop of strained relations with other royals, particularly Prince William.
The brothers’ relationship has remained strained following Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s public comments about the royal family, including their interviews and Harry’s memoir, Spare. Although one recent report claimed the couple were considering an apology to Prince William, a source close to the Sussexes disputed that account, telling People the claim was “nonsense.”
