Michael Douglas opens up about an older woman who made her intentions clear
According to RadarOnline.com, Douglas recalls in his memoir One Helluva Ride meeting his mother’s friend while his mother and stepfather were away. The woman stayed at his family’s home and showed interest in his motorcycle. “She was eyeing the motorcycle, so I asked if she wanted a ride,” Douglas wrote. During the ride, she “wrapped her arms tightly around me” and pressed “her body against mine.”
At first, Douglas suspected that he was misreading what was happening. After they spent time talking on the beach, he said he “picked up on her vibe.” When he drove her home, she again “pressed into him,” and Douglas said he “leaned back.” She then “pressed harder,” making her intentions clear.
“When we got back to the house, we wasted no time,” Douglas wrote. He later called the woman his “Mrs. Robinson,” referring to the older woman in the 1967 movie The Graduate. Douglas also admitted, “She taught me a lot about women.” He said they had “no expectations on either side,” which made the relationship work for them.
The relationship continued after Douglas returned to college. He said they stayed together “for a couple of years” whenever he came home. “I never felt exactly right about it,” he admitted, but he also remembered being young and having “this beautiful and sophisticated woman” wanting to spend time with him. Douglas said the experience gave him “a new confidence and ease with women,” shaping his early dating life.
