Lil Nas X took to Instagram to reveal that his new track features his late mother’s voice. He shared an Instagram reel with the caption, “‘Walk by faith, not by sight’ was my mom’s favorite phrase to say. As I move through life, it resonates with me more & more. This one’s for the ‘World’s Greatest!’ October 1, 2026, Thursday 12 PM EST.”
The 28-year-old rapper’s new track release came after his difficult phase of life. Lil Nas X spent time in rehab, and legal trouble surrounded him in 2025 following his arrest. According to The Blast, he spent months in rehab and has been working with a therapist and psychiatrist. He shared the difficult phase of his life with fans as he started connecting with them again.
His new song was announced weeks after his mother died. In August, the rapper shared photographs of his mother, including himself, with the caption, “RIP TO THE BADDEST EVER! LOVE U FOREVER MOMMY. This one’s gonna hurt.”
His latest track features an emotional message from his mom that he shared on Instagram. The message read, “Hey, doobie been calling you multiple times today. I just wanna say, love you. Keep your head up. Continue to walk by faith, not by sight; let go and let god handle the rest. Everything else is gonna work itself out in its own place. Don’t give up; never give up. Continue to walk by faith, not by sight; let go and let god handle the rest, and I wanna say I love you. Don’t forget that I will call you again to check up on you. Love you, bye.”
The song marks another deeply personal moment as Lil Nas X continues to share his journey with fans.
