A new Avengers: Secret Wars production timeline update has come out. Last week, Marvel insider Daniel Richtman claimed that Secret Wars will reportedly start filming in early October 2026. However, his latest update suggests that the production of the anticipated MCU movie helmed by Joe and Anthony Russo may not begin before November 2026.
While the scooper has a credible track record with his leaks and reports, fans should still take everything with a grain of salt unless Marvel Studios has an official update.
The new report changes what fans can expect from Avengers: Secret Wars’ filming schedule
The filming schedule of Avengers: Secret Wars has been complicated lately. Fans previously believed the movie was already in production after reports surfaced that Marvel shot some scenes for Secret Wars during Avengers: Doomsday reshoots. It was even claimed that the VFX work was underway. However, these reports had no truth.
Given the latest update from Richtman, Marvel fans will have to wait even longer before any news emerges on Secret Wars’ cast, characters, or plot.
Early rumors suggest that Secret Wars’ story may feature the Battleworld, inspired by the comics, after Doctor Doom’s victory in Doomsday.
Compared to Doomsday, there’s been no official update on the movie’s full cast. However, Robert Downey Jr. is confirmed to return as Victor von Doom.
A previous claim from another insider, MCU Film News, hinted at the return of other familiar cast members. They include Chris Evans as Steve Rogers, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards, David Harbour as Red Guardian, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes, Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, among others.
At the time of writing, all reports and rumors are unverified and should be taken with caution.
Avengers: Secret Wars hits theaters on December 17, 2027.
