Taylor Swift contacted Bebe Rexha after designers refused to dress her for the 2019 Grammys
On September 29, 2026, José Norberto Flesch shared a tweet showing an E! News video in which Bebe Rexha revealed that Taylor Swift contacted her after designers refused to dress her for the 2019 Grammys. It was from the moment, she was walking the blue carpet at MTV VMA’s.
Rexha said, “I remember when I had the whole Grammys situation, and I couldn’t find a dress, and she had reached out to me because we’re the same age.”
“And I thought that was really, really, really kind of her. Like, nobody really reached out. Some people did, you know? But for her, at such a high level, to kind of make me feel like I belonged, was really, really nice.” She added.
Talking about this incident, Bebe Rexha herself had shared at the time how difficult it was for her to find designers because they considered her “too big.”
The 37-year-old expressed her frustration at the time, saying, “I don’t want to wear your f–king dresses. ‘Cause that’s crazy. You’re saying that all the women in the world that are size 8 and up are not beautiful and they cannot wear your dresses.”
Meanwhile, at the 2019 Grammy Awards, Rexha ultimately wore a red tiered tulle gown designed by Monsoori.
At the 61st Annual Grammy Awards, Bebe Rexha received two nominations: one for Best New Artist and another for Best Country Duo/Group Performance for “Meant to Be.” However, Dua Lipa won the Best New Artist award, while Dan + Shay won the Best Country Duo/Group Performance award for their song “Tequila.”
