Jay-Z Accuser Changes Her Story in New Twist for Rapper — Report

A Jay-Z accuser has formally withdrawn the serious allegations she previously made against the rapper. The woman, identified in court as Jane Doe, now says she never met Jay-Z and that her claims involving him were false. The development marks another turn in a legal dispute that continued even after Doe dropped her original lawsuit in 2025.

Jay-Z accuser issues statement denying the allegations she made against him

According to The Guardian, Doe filed a new declaration in Manhattan federal court on September 24. In the filing, she stated that Jay-Z, whose legal name is Shawn Carter, never sexually assaulted her. She also said she had never met or spoken to the rapper.

Rolling Stone, which obtained the declaration, reported that Doe said there was “no truth” to her claims against Carter. She also apologized for the harm her accusations caused him and his family.

However, Doe’s new attorney, James Blair Newman Jr., provided additional context. He said Doe still maintains that she experienced sexual assault but had “entirely mistaken” Jay-Z for someone involved. He reiterated that Carter did not assault her and that she had never met him.

Doe originally accused Carter and Sean “Diddy” Combs in an amended 2024 lawsuit concerning an alleged incident in 2000. Carter denied the accusations from the beginning. Doe later dismissed the lawsuit with prejudice in February 2025, meaning she could not refile the same claims.

Earlier this year, Jay-Z described the emotional impact of the case, saying the allegations left him “heartbroken.”

Carter subsequently pursued a malicious-prosecution case involving Doe and her former attorneys. Following her new statement, Carter voluntarily dismissed Doe as a defendant in that case, according to Rolling Stone.

The latest filing substantially changes the record surrounding the allegations against Jay-Z. However, separate legal disputes involving the attorneys connected to the original case remain ongoing.
