Prince William’s ‘Double Act’ With Kate Middleton Exposed a Telling Message — Source

A light-hearted moment on a Scottish street has put Prince William and Kate Middleton in the spotlight. While greeting fans on the Isle of Bute, the couple shared a playful exchange that was caught on video. Now, a body language expert has offered her reading of William’s gestures. She reportedly believes that it signals something deeper beyond the joke.

Prince William’s ‘comedy double act’ with Kate Middleton in video suggests ‘upbeat resilience’ amid drama, per source

Prince William and Kate Middleton visited Rothesay on Thursday, September 17. The town shares its name with the couple’s Scottish titles, Duke and Duchess of Rothesay. During the walkabout, Kate paused to chat and take photos with a group of admirers. The conversation ran long enough that William prompted her to keep moving. In footage of the exchange, William taps his watch and tells Kate, “You’ve got to speed up.” He adds that she needs to reach the end of the line before they leave.

Judi James, a body language expert, reportedly told The Mirror US that William was “creating something of a comedy double act.” She alleged that his exaggerated miming suggested “upbeat resilience” amid tension over claims in his uncle’s forthcoming book. Earl Spencer’s memoir on Princess Diana titled “Swan Song: Diana, My Sister” was released on September 22.

James also reportedly described the sequence in detail. William touched Kate’s back, mimed the time, and turned to onlookers, apparently seeking sympathy. She reportedly labeled it a “tentative interruption” rather than a dominant one, and pointed to his sheepish grin.

Kate’s tendency to linger with the public is not new. During a Christmas walkabout in 2024, she trailed behind her husband and children and joked, “I seem to have lost my family!” A year later, royal reporter Rebecca English observed that Kate “lagged on the way out, shaking as many hands as possible.”

Elsewhere on the trip, Prince William and Kate Middleton tried shinty at the Bute Shinty Club and helped with a beach clean-up at Ettrick Bay. They also appeared at the Anchor Tavern Pub.
