What happens in Day Drinker trailer?
The trailer features the Pirates of the Caribbean star as the mysterious Day Drinker, who stumbles upon a private-yacht bartender, played by Madelyn Cline. Moreover, Penélope Cruz appears as a shadowy criminal figure. Together, they lead the action-thriller on the yacht as the three share a tragic connection.
Day Drinker is helmed by The Amazing Spider-Man director Marc Webb and written by Zach Dean. The upcoming movie would be one of Depp’s major comeback projects in Hollywood after his 2022 defamation trial, alongside the fantasy adventure Ebenezer: A Christmas Carol.
The action thriller would also be the fourth time Depp and his co-star Cruz reunite. The two previously starred in Blow, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, and Murder on the Orient Express.
As for Cline, Webb described her role as “the pivotal emotional center of the movie.” The director added, “I needed somebody who could embrace a kind of pathos and give the movie a heart. And Maddie is very good at that.”
In addition to the three, the ensemble includes Manu Ríos, Arón Piper, Juan Diego Bo, and Anika Boyle. Dean also served as a producer alongside Basil Iwanyk, Adam Kolbrenner, and Erica Lee. Executive producers include Stephen Deuters, Jason Forman, Dan Friedkin, Micah Green, Adrián Guerra, Sarah Hong, Scott LaStaiti, and Daniel Steinman.
Day Drinker will be released in theaters on March 26, 2027.
